What Does the BE Driving Licence Include and What Are the Requirements?
With a BE driving licence, you are allowed to tow a heavy trailer or caravan. This is required when:
The total mass of the combination (car + trailer) exceeds 3500 kg.
The trailer has a maximum permissible weight of more than 750 kg.
In these cases, a standard category B licence is not sufficient. To obtain your BE licence, you must:
Hold a valid B driving licence.
Be at least 18 years old.

Are the rates inclusive or exclusive of VAT?
At Goon AutorijSchool, the rates include VAT for private customers and exclude VAT for business clients. The 2023 rates apply (subject to price changes).
Are there any one-time registration fees?
Yes, upon registration we charge a one-time fee of €35 for administration and enrolment.
What does the day schedule look like?
During our half-day course, you will learn to drive safely with a trailer in traffic together with our instructor. You will practice special manoeuvres, such as reversing, reversing around a corner, coupling and uncoupling, and understanding the registration documents for both the car and the trailer.
At the end of the course, you will take a CBR exam. The examiner will ask questions about the documents, assess your coupling skills, and have you complete a drive of approximately 35 minutes. After uncoupling, you will receive the results immediately, and you can apply for your trailer driving licence at the town hall the next day.
Is a driving test mandatory?
Yes, to receive exam guarantee, you must take a mandatory driving test. During this test, our instructor assesses whether you need a half-day course or a full-day course to obtain your trailer licence.
If you follow the instructor’s advice, you receive exam guarantee. This means that if you do not pass, we cover the cost of one re-examination.
The cost of the driving test is €65, excluding VAT.
What is the average duration of a driving lesson?
A standard driving lesson with us lasts 60 minutes. However, we usually schedule double lessons of 120 minutes so you can make progress more quickly.
Can I also take driving lessons in an automatic car?
Yes, that is possible. In addition to manual cars, we also offer driving lessons in automatic vehicles.
Can I take driving lessons in another language?
Yes, at Go on Autorij School you can follow driving lessons in Dutch, English or Arabic.
Can I take driving lessons in the evenings and on weekends?
Yes, we also offer lessons in the evenings and on Saturdays, so you can always find a suitable time.
Which cars do you use for lessons?
We use modern and well-maintained training vehicles, such as the Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen Polo, model year 2022.
Where will I be picked up?
We pick you up at a central location, such as the Central Station in your city. This ensures that we can use the full lesson time to help you learn to drive, rather than spending time picking up and dropping off other students.
